Whilst still in the Capital on that dreary day, we were walking from the World War II Memorial towards the Lincoln Memorial, and I at the water body in the middle and realised that I was in a famous location. I confess memories of Hollywood movies primarily ran thru my mind, not any US history. After all, I can identify the location more with Forrest Gump and the remake of the Planet of the Apes more than any Presidential swearing in ceremony or any other important event (NOW, I can identify it with Obama’s swearing in though).
More than the location, what caught my fascination were the ripples in the water. Concentric circles; the beauty of nature; all brought to attention by a lone duck in the middle of the water.
Made me realise – all i want to be ever, is but a mere “ripple” in the ocean of Life. I am not an uber-ambitious person. All I want to be is “happy”. Happy on my own, in the middle of the water, making my way through life, making a few ripples as I go ahead. 🙂
